Welcome to My Wedding Planning Blog!
Hi there! This is my first blog post so bare with me while I get the hang of this. I guess I should start with spitting out a few random facts about myself, here we go... My name is Alexandra but that's a mouth full so I prefer Alex. I'm a Heinz 57 when you look at my family tree, but I grew up with my Italian side of the family so I'm Italian...nothing else obviously, haha. This brings us to my love of food; pasta, wine, charcuterie, tacos, just to name a few! In my spare time I'm taking care of my two loving, energetic, attitude-filled daughters who love keeping me on my toes! I sincerely think I'm obsessed with Oreos but if you ask my husband he would say my obsession is with being organized, and having a plan for everything. He's been telling me to branch out and make a business out of these skills for a long time and I'm happy that I am now!

I'm definitely the go-to person to organize an event. I've been helping friends and family plan weddings, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, bridal showers and baby showers for years now. I decided to actually listen to my husband for once and created Signature ME Planning to offer my skills to the public. I have 11 years of working in the tourist and sales industry, making customer service my area of expertise. Recently I've been asked, why wedding planning? My short answer is because I'm a perfectionist and a control freak. But the proper answer... It all started back in 2001 when I was watching a movie starring Jennifer Lopez, it was called 'The Wedding Planner'. It sounds corny, yes I know, but I was a kid and everything I was 'allowed' to watch was considered corny! That movie really set me down the path of loving organization, planning, making lists, and assigning tasks. I now have a wedding day emergency kit I bring with me while I work, just like J-Lo. I'll definitely do a blog post in the near future about my kit; stay tuned! Aside from this movie, I'm just happy to be able to do something that I find easy and fun. Becoming a wedding planner/coordinator also lets me set my own schedule to an extent, and that flexibility is important for my family life. Family is everything to me! And when family starts to get on my nerves, I'm happy to be able to meet new people through different vendors, haha. In my opinion, the two best things about this industry are:
Witnessing/being able to share in a happy and memorable day with clients; I love seeing my clients smile
It's never a dull moment; every wedding is unique with different elements and different locations
From here on out, I plan to post some tips and tricks about the wedding planning process to help you out. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook to get updates on new blog posts!
